There was a strong resistance in working with indigenous lineage practices of this land inside of me. As a person who works with anti-racist and liberation principles, cultural appropriation is the last thing I want to perpetuate.
Yet, spirit spoke through my teachers and elders loudly, and I am thankful to their tutorage, encouragement and blessings to practice and teach these traditional practices. So many lives has been lost in order to preserve these traditions under centuries of oppressive rule, and these medicines are needed to regain humanity more than ever. I am honored and feel a deep sense of privilege to be able to work with my teachers.
Through these practices, I regain my connection to my own indigeneity and ancestors in such visceral ways I never imagined possible.
Medicine Way
Under the guidance of Irma Star Spirit Turtle Woman, I am blessed to be initiated in a way of Medicine Woman with the spiritual name of Jewel Moon Medicine Woman. The way of indigenous science has been practiced and refined for many centuries which incorporates all the energies that have been given to us by the Earth Mother. The treatment will be chosen based on the consultation.
drum journey
Indigenous drum is a powerful instrument that creates reality. The circle of the drum represents the Feminine, and the stick the Masculine — together they give birth to a new frequency.
On a practical level, the sound of the indigenous drum is known to produce alpha and theta brain waves, which allows us to tap into the parts of our brain we usually don’t. Some may call this subconscious and others call this dreamtime. This is where we can shift the deeply ingrained pattern that cannot be changed by the conscious mind, or our will.
Drum journey can be offered for clients to tap into their innate wisdom to find answers, meet their spiritual, ancestral or animal guides, soul retrieval and past life regression.
past life regression
Past life regression work is done when the client is seeing a pattern in life that is not rooted in their own life experiences. This pattern can be rooted in their past or ancestral lives, and we will journey into these lives to witness and heal these aspects. This work incorporates the hypnotic journey of indigenous drum to enter into the subconscious, and may also include Soul Retrieval to complete the healing.
soul retrieval
There are challenges in our lives that could not be dealt with the resources we had at that time. These unresolved challenges turn into our trauma, instead of the learned lessons that bear much nourishment. In indigenous traditions, we call this our ‘soul losses’; we leave parts of ourselves in our past in order for us to survive.
Practice of soul retrieval involves indigenous drum sounds to take us into our subconscious mind, and to reclaim the parts of us that have been missing for us to become more whole. This can be a viscerally immersive experience for a powerful healing.
cord cutting
Contrary to what many believe, cord cutting is not about getting someone out of your life. It is about severing a particular way of relating with someone, so there will be no energetic codependency.
There are many ways to achieve this work, including energetic healing. Indigenous practice for cord cutting involves a more ceremonial approach where we declare our commitment to shift the pattern of energetic codependency in all the ways that exist.
toltec tradition
The philosophy and healing practices that has been passed down from the ancient people of central Mexico is now being revealed to us. This has been hidden for the past 500 years, and now being taught by Maestro Sergio Magana Ocelocoyotl. An expansive system of cosmology, creation stories, philosophy, and mathematics offers in-depth practices of healing and transformation.
limpia
Limpia means “to clean” in Spanish, and it includes many different methods and natural materials. We use this work when the client is experiencing heavy emotions that are stuck in their energetic field allowing the experience to move through for integration, and for the lessons to emerge. This work is exclusively done in-person only.
rose healing ritual
Taught by Rita Navarrete Perez of Mexico City, this is a powerful healing ritual utilizing the power of the nature to harness and awaken the immense power within. The session will take 2.5 - 3 hours, and flower essence session as a follow-up (90min) within a week is recommended for further integration of the work.
Rose has been used in many cultures across the globe for its powerful healing capabilities. In this healing ritual taught by Mayan elder, Rita Navarrete Perez, fresh roses are used to cleanse and balance your energetic bodies, and excavate old emotional wounds that are ready to be worked through.
Clients are asked to bring 1-2 dozens of roses, journal & pen, and wear comfortable clothing.
